School starts October 1st! Help us get ready for back-to-school!
Our team is now in full-prep mode in anticipation of our FOURTH year. We have repairs we must make and more supplies to send, but our most critical task is to build a new third-grade classroom to add a grade for next year. We have started working on the foundation, but more financial assistance is needed to bring this building to completion before the start of the new school year.

Furnishing + Equipping //
Did you know we build our own teachers’ desks, students’ desks, chalkboards, and bookshelves? We’re proud to say that each piece of classroom furniture was made by local carpenters. By hiring local artisans, we’re continuing to invest in job creation and break the cycle of poverty. You can help furnish our new third-grade classroom and welcome our (first-ever! ) incoming third graders!
Cafeteria //
Three years ago, we started our humble little school inside an existing building, simple and small. But as we enter our fourth year, welcoming 72 students, it is time for us to create a cafeteria space for lunchtime, where we can feed our students efficiently. The good news is we have an existing space that we can turn into a cafeteria. But in order for us to use this space, there are repairs needed for our school kitchen, as well as tables and benches that need to be built.
I can’t wait for this to become a reality. This change for our school will help keep the classrooms clean, lessen burdens on our teachers, and increase student learning time by making more efficient use of our space and time. Our entire school is looking forward to this welcomed expansion.
Maintenance + Repairs //
As you can imagine, after a full school year with 60 students, there are many maintenance and repairs required to give this space a refresh! Your support will help us create a welcoming environment for our returning students.

Since day one, our student tuition has been equivalent to $20 USD per school year (which does not even cover a month of school lunches) because we want to make quality education accessible to all, regardless of income levels. Playground Expansion
Our students are growing, and we must too.This is a good problem to have! We started our first year with a simple playground set for our 36 students, ranging from ages 3-5, that we were able to secure quickly across the border in the Dominican Republic. But last year, we saw that our 2nd graders, ages 7-8, are too big for this play set. In order to preserve this precious and rare find in Haiti, we had to restrict our older students from playing on it.
This year, we would like to add a bigger playground set for our elementary students. The growing student body means we will need to split up recess time for our preschool and elementary students. Our 36 preschoolers will be able to enjoy recess with their age-appropriate playground set and toys. We would love for our 36 elementary students to be able to enjoy a new playground set during their recess time too! You can help us make this possible!

Help us feed our students with a nutritious meal each day in school for only $2 a meal. This enables us to fight childhood hunger and provide nutrition to malnourished children.

Help us hire qualified teachers and teacher’s assistants for our school. The poor education system in the rural villages of Haiti is due to the lack of qualified teachers.

From crayons to construction paper, these basic school supplies are not available in Fond Doux and most schools go without. We believe it is vital to incorporate art and creativity to develop critical thinkers.

Preschool Launch - Fall 2023
School is in session! The first day of Impact International Institute of Haiti was on Monday, September 11th, 2023! We are starting with three Preschool classes in a temporary location in Fond Doux as we work on building on our land. Our nonprofit partner, Hope Beyond Borders has generously opened up their doors for us to start our school in their location rent-free! We are delighted for the opportunity to start making an impact in kids’ lives this school year, create a safe learning environment, and invest in early childhood education.
We are here to create a place of refuge and safe haven for the children in a time of great tension and insecurity in Haiti.
