10 Years of IMPACT!

It’s hard to believe that 10 years have gone by!

We launched out to make an IMPACT 10 years ago this week in December of 2013 and hosted our first Haiti Expo amongst friends and family in my living room. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined the incredible impact we would be making together in Haiti. This newsletter isn’t long enough to list all that we’ve done, but here are a few highlights:

Fair Trade

We began this journey with the goal of ending poverty through job creation. To that end, we sought out local artisans and farmers who were creating products from ethically sourced materials. For many years, we've been able to bring the resilient beauty of Haiti from their homes to yours at Impactful Market.

Now, we have established our very own Artisan Workshop in one of the poorest areas in Haiti to give mamas a chance to learn new skills and the ability to support their families.

IMPACT

We knew from the very start that access to education would be critical to changing Haiti for the better. We launched the scholarship program in 2014 to send underprivileged children to school from preschool to university. In 2022, we launched our nonprofit, Impactful Missions, to expand the scope of our impact.

This year, we opened our preschool, Impact International Institute of Haiti, and are in the process of building our own premiere academy to raise up the next generation of Haiti’s leaders.

COMPASSION

At the heart of it all are the lives in our community - artisans, teachers, mothers, fathers, and many children. Through earthquakes and hurricanes, riots and famine, our team has continued to be an outstretched hand of relief and aid to the Fond Doux community.

Today, we remain steadfast in our commitment to the people of our village. We’re still in Haiti, building up the community; and we’re not going anywhere.
