Bienvenue! School bells are ringing!

What a joy to celebrate the start of our third year at Impact International Institute of Haiti together with our 60 little lions + 20 staff in Fond Doux, Haiti!

We are growing quickly! In September of 2023, we started with only 36 preschoolers, and now, we have first graders and second graders! But this journey had its ups and downs. Our school went through a huge challenge last Spring with the unimaginable kidnapping of our programs director, Daniel. Our community was shaken. After the 50 longest days of our lives, many negotiations and fervent prayers, he walked out a free man. (Read Daniel’s story here.) This summer was a much-needed time of recovery, healing, and restoration for all of us.

During our darkest season, one of our special supporters, Pastor Kent Jensen, stepped up and carried us through by pledging to build a new second-grade classroom this summer so we can have space to welcome in our new second graders. Because of his fundraising efforts at our lowest moment and your generous support this summer, we were able to open our school doors for our third year, to welcome in 60 little ones this October! I am deeply grateful to report that we’ve weathered our greatest storm and are coming out stronger than ever. Our school teachers + staff are more united and focused than ever to make a real impact in these children’s lives.

HELP HAITI RISE ✨

Last year, two nonprofits, Impactful Missions & Hope Beyond Borders, came together to launch a movement challenge called Rise Beyond All Odds, where YOU can get involved in changing lives. We had teams from the US, Germany, and Haiti join our challenge to raise awareness and fight for the future of Haiti. Through the generosity of over 200 donors, our movement challenge raised $104,496! This initiative helped us raise our school food budget and staff salary for the year! 

This Fall, we want to double our impact with Rise Beyond All Odds 2025! I’m taking on a personal movement challenge of 200 miles by Dec 21st! I will be going the EXTRA mile for Haiti, our Hurricane Melissa relief efforts, and our 3rd year at Impact International Institute of Haiti! This will help raise our school food and salary budget for the year, and potentially the start of our 3rd-grade classroom construction project!
