2ND YEAR IN THE BOOKS

We made it to the end of our second year at Impact International Institute of Haiti!

As we celebrate our graduates - kindergarteners becoming first graders - and reflect on the past school year, we have so much to be thankful for…

A full year of operation in safety and peace in our village, Fond Doux
YOU, our generous supporters, who have made it possible for us to provide nutritious school meals, pay our monthly payroll, and build a safe + creative space for learning in Haiti
Our teachers + staff, who show up every day - rain or shine - to invest in the next generation of leaders
LIFE. A few months ago, we had a major scare with our programs director, Daniel (read his kidnapping story here), and we are thankful he is back in Fond Doux safe and sound.
The growth of our students. In our second year, we can already see a difference in our students - they are more mentally alert, physically strong, and energetic than other children in our village. We are already making a HUGE IMPACT in their lives, and we are just getting started!

GRADUATION HIGHLIGHTS

Performances

The singing, dancing, and poetry reciting before parents and community members were the perfect way to cap off the school year.

Compared to the first week of school, we are amazed to see their increase in confidence and skills!

A Glimpse Into The Future

A cook, a mechanic, a police officer, a lawyer, a nurse, and a doctor - the students from the graduating class surprised us with their transformation! They each shared about how they will serve us, the community, in their role.

It was a great reminder for us to not only see them as children, but also who they will become in the future.

Passing Of The Torch

A special moment when Samuel from the graduating class passed the torch to Sypion, a student from the incoming kindergarten class.

She promised to keep the light burning!

There were so many proud parents in the audience. It was a rare and special sight to see, especially fathers showing up for their children.

SUMMER EXPANSION 2025

Construction is underway! Our second-grade classroom is going to be bigger and better! With our kids growing taller and our elementary school expanding, we designed a larger classroom that can also be a shared space for activities just for our 1st and 2nd graders! We are grateful for the opportunity to expand + grow our safe space to welcome in more students next year.

Through this building project, we are creating much-needed jobs for the local people. It’s wonderful to see the community come together under a shared mission.

We have a lot more work to do this summer! Besides building a brand-new classroom, we are also building our own tables + chalkboard + bookshelf, purchasing 12 more chairs, restocking our school supplies and so much more!
